Onboarding Video --- Watch This Video First

Please read through this article before you start using your SkyShepherd. 

Note: You'll need to train your dog on SkyShepherd before using SkyShepherd for containment. See the Quick-Start Guide, the Training Guide, and the Training Videos section of this help center for more info.

Key Components & How SkyShepherd Works Overview

Each SkyShepherd unit purchased should contain:

• 1x GPS collar unit
• 1x Nylon collar strap or one-size-fits-all coated vinyl webbing collar strap
• 1x Yard Monitor (relays messages from your collar over the internet to your SkyShepherd app)
• 1x Yard Monitor antenna
• 2x 120 Volt, 1-Amp wall adapters
• 2x  USB A to USB C charging (collar) / power (Yard Monitor) cords
• 1x Quick-Start Guide print-out
• 1x Training Guide print-out
• 1x Black nylon carry case with lanyard, to contain everything during travel

Don't charge your collar when the USB port is wet

An important note about charging your collar(s). Your SkyShepherd collar and its USB charging port are waterproof, even without the rubber dust cover. But, don't charge your collar(s) when the  USB port is wet. Doing so so could cause your collar to stop being able to charge, over time. If the port is wet when you go to charge the collar, you can let the port dry out by keeping the rubber dust cover open, or use a small USB swab or similar tool to draw out moisture from the port. A small bit of non-linting cloth could also work. If you use the dust cover when not charging, this should help avoid moisture getting in the USB port.
