Is my dog going to get annoyed at how often Safe Tone sounds?
Safe Tone sounds at a dynamic interval that varies according to your dog's activity. If your dog is stagnant, relaxing in the middle of Safe Zone, Safe Tone sounds at a progressively less frequent interval. If your dog has just returned to Safe Zone from an alert zone, then Safe Tone sounds frequently at first, and then the interval tapers off the longer your dog has been in Safe Zone. In any case, Safe Tone should not annoy your dog. If properly trained, your dog is glad to hear Safe Tone each time.
Safe Tone is an integral part of SkyShepherd training's positive reinforcement and incentive-based technique. Even dogs with previous experience with other collars that provide tones can be trained on SkyShepherd and reap the benefits of the positive reinforcement that the Safe Tone provides. Even so, as a last resort, if you feel like you won't be able to train your dog because it is confusing other tones it has learned with Safe Tone, you can turn Safe Tone off in the app, under the gear (settings) portion of your collar's Pet Panel. The setting is a slider down on the lower right hand portion of the pull-up page (see below).
