If you can't connect to your collar (GPS unit/main SkyShepherd component) over Bluetooth. Here are some things you can try:
-
Are you within range of your collar (~33ft./10m)?
- Make sure you are close enough to connect
-
Is there a large obstruction between your mobile device and your collar?
- Cars, walls, solid doors, metal structures, etc. can degrade or sever Bluetooth connections
-
Is your phone's Bluetooth turned on?
- The app should notify you when you first open the app if it isn't.
-
Are you connected to one of your other collars (if you have more than one SkyShepherd collar)?
- If so:
- Go to that collar in the Pet Panel
- Make sure none of the three buttons are selected
- Swipe over to the collar you want to connect to
- Press one of it's three button
- You can also:
- Close the app
- Take the collar you want to connect to with you far away from the collar
- Open the app
- If so:
-
Is someone else's phone/app already connected to the collar you're trying to connect to?
- Only one app can connect to each collar at a time, and the app can only connect to one collar at a time. So, if, say, your spouse happens to be connected to the collar you are trying to connect to, you won't be able to. Simply check and see if that is the case and either close the other app, disconnect from the collar on the other app, or otherwise coordinate with the other person.
-
Is your collar dead (no/very low battery)?
- Charge the collar in that case.
- Sometimes the fastest and easiest way to restore Bluetooth connection to a collar is to close and re-open the app.
- Another fast way to fix Bluetooth issues it to turn your phone's Bluetooth off and then back on again.
