Every dog is different and learns at its own pace. Some dogs will need more training time than others, which is to be expected.
Assess your dog’s grasp of the training throughout each training stage. Don’t move on to the next stage until you’re confident your dog understands what you’ve already been trying to teach it.
A few things to keep in mind when training. First, don’t connect your leash to SkyShepherd’s D-ring. Doing so may cause inconsistent contact. Next, for First and Second Alert training, start off using a short leash for better control. You may want to try a slip lead like the one in the video. Third, use the mobile app Training Mode feature. It will show you what your collar is doing and what zone your dog is in. But don’t stare at your phone; watch your dog for its reaction and listen for SkyShepherd feedback. You may want to wear an ear bud in one ear. This way you can hear the app while keeping your eyes and the other ear on your dog to give guidance when needed. Take your time training your dog; don’t rush. You don’t want to overwhelm your dog.
