NOTE: This article depicts a version of the SkyShepherd app that is currently being phased out. Even so, the information in this article largely still applies, even if the screenshots of the app don't match exactly. Some people are still using the app as depicted below. When we have fully switched to the new app, this article will be updated with new screenshots. In the mean time, we feel that if you are using the new app, you'll be able to see the parallels with how the process is shown and discussed in this article. Feel free to reach out with questions (see bottom of article for contact info).
Where in the app do I edit boundaries?
Look at the bottom of the SkyShepherd app. There is a button labeled, "Boundaries," that brings you to your boundary library.
From the boundary library, slide half-left on the boundary you want to edit.
A gray box and a red box will appear. Gray is for editing, Red is for deleting. Tap the gray button to edit.
You'll arrive on the boundary edit screen with the map underlay and the familiar sight of your boundary as represented by lines and boundary points.
How do I move my boundary points?
When you edit your boundary from the SkyShepherd mobile app, on the boundary edit screen, you can add points or move the ones you've already created.
To add points:
To add points, simply tap on the screen near the boundary lines. You can tap inside the boundary or outside the boundary and it will connect the nearest boundary points to the one you just created.
To move existing points:
To move an existing boundary point, you have to lightly press and hold on top of the point and then wait. You're looking for the screen to shift and for the boundary point that you just pressed to appear from below your finger, as it will shift with the screen. This shift happens so your finger doesn't block your view of the boundary point and you can more easily see and precisely place where you are moving the point.
You'll have been keeping pressure on the screen this whole time. When the screen shifts, while keeping pressure with your finger on the screen, drag your finger around and watch as the boundary point moves along with your finger. Once the boundary point is where you want it to be, then let go with your finger, and the point is locked in place. You can repeat the process again to move the boundary point again, or to move another boundary point. Watch this video for a demonstration:
