NOTE: This article discusses an aspect of a version of the SkyShepherd app that has been phased out. New versions of the SkyShepherd app do not have any purpling aspect.
Any time you see purple in the app, whether on the boundary activation slider or collar feedback settings, it means the app is trying to complete a function, but hasn't completed it yet and may not be able to complete it, or that a function that was previously selected is no longer being implemented:
This can happen for a number of reasons. If you ever see purple, whether you're activating or de-activating a boundary, or maybe changing a collar feedback setting, first, try undoing and redoing the selection, or toggling the selection to what you want it to be. If that doesn't get rid of the purple, check your Bluetooth connection in the pet panel. Last, a good common troubleshooting measure is to close the app and re-launch it.
IMPORTANT: If you ever see your boundary activation slider is to the right, but purple, make sure to toggle it off and on (assuming you want the boundary to be active). A purple boundary activation slider means your boundary is not active, and won't contain your dog. Make sure to confirm the boundary is active by hearing the Safe Tone from the collar, seeing the collar location icon (inverted teardrop with dog icon inside) and indicator dot are green. and seeing the boundary activation slider is on but no longer has a purple background.
